Edwardsville Along With Several Other Area Fire Departments Battle 2-Alarm Fire Thursday Night

EDWARDSVILLE – Just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday night Edwardsville Fire Department was dispatched to the EXO Nail Bar at 2157 Center Street for a structure fire.

When Edwardsville Fire Department arrived on scene, they had heavy smoke showing from the building. Edwardsville requested a Commerical Box-Alarm then requested a 2-Alarm due to the severity of the fire.

Glen Carbon, Wood River, Troy, Holiday Shores and Collinsville Fire Departments helped on the scene during the fire. As firefighters battled the fire, they had three aerial ladders helping suppress the fire. Edwardsville, Glen Carbon and Troy had their ladder trucks on scene.

The business sustained major damage and parts of their roof collapsed.

Edwardsville Police Department shut down both directions of IL.157 during the fire. Madison County Emergency Management had their Rehab Unit and Drone on scene to help.

No injuries were reported. It is unknown at this time how the fire started. The Illinois State Fire Marshal was on scene to investigate the cause.
