Meadowbrook along with Several Other Departments Responded To A Garage Fire Sunday Morning

MORO – Meadowbrook Fire Department was paged out to a detached garage on fire in the 500 block of East Roosevelt Sunday morning.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they noticed they had heavy smoke and fire inside the garage. Firefighters observed two vehicles and propane tanks on fire. Meadowbrook requested a box-alarm due to the fire. Bethalto, Cottage Hills and Rosewood Heights Fire Department’s responded to the scene with manpower.

Due to no fire hydrants in the area Holliday Shores Tender truck was called to the scene to shuttle water. Madison County Emergency Management responded with the rehab truck and Alton Memorial Ambulance was on standby in case of any injuries.

Fosterburg Fire Department manned Bethalto’s fire station while they were helping and ran two EMS calls in town.

The garage sustained major fire damage along with the vehicles. No injuries were reported. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
