Colonel Gregory Announces Promotions to the Ranks of Captain, Lieutenant, and Sergeant

ST LOUIS COUNTY – On Friday, March 11, 2022, St. Louis County Police Colonel Kenneth L. Gregory announced the promotions of Lieutenant James Morgan to the rank of Captain, Sergeants Bradley Bland, Johnathan Cunningham, John Edgecombe, and Shanna Ostendorf to the rank of Lieutenant, and Police Officers Robert Dean, Derrick Fort, Goran Katic, John Krebs, Columbus Love, Dawn Neuman, and Monica Wasem to the rank of Sergeant. 

Captain Morgan joined the Department in 2002. Captain Morgan previously served in the North County  Precinct, the Central County Precinct, the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, the West  County Precinct, and the City of Wildwood Precinct, and is currently assigned to the Special Response  Unit. Captain Morgan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Missouri Western State  University and a Master’s Degree in Administration of Law from the University of Phoenix. Captain  Morgan has received 7 Department awards and commendations. 

Lieutenant Bland joined the Department in 2002. Lieutenant Bland previously served in the Affton  Southwest Precinct, the West County Precinct, the City of Wildwood Precinct, the General Assignment  Unit, the Bureau of Professional Standards, the Personnel Services Unit, the North County Precinct, and  the City of Jennings Precinct, and is currently assigned to the St. Louis County and Municipal Police  Academy. Lieutenant Bland earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration  from Western Illinois University. Lieutenant Bland has received 4 Department awards and commendations. 

Lieutenant Cunningham joined the Department in 2008. Lieutenant Cunningham previously served in the  Central County Precinct, the Highway Safety Unit, the North County Precinct, the City of Jennings Precinct, and the Special Response Unit, and is currently assigned to the Bureau of Professional Standards. Lieutenant  Cunningham earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  Lieutenant Cunningham has received 6 Department awards and commendations. 

Lieutenant Edgecombe joined the Department in 2003 with prior military service. Lieutenant Edgecombe previously served in the West County Precinct, the Police Canine Unit, the Community Action Team, the  Central County Precinct, the Bureau of Drug Enforcement, and the South County Precinct, and is currently  assigned to the Domestic Violence Unit. Lieutenant Edgecombe has received 26 Department awards and  commendations. 

Lieutenant Ostendorf joined the Department in 1999. Lieutenant Ostendorf previously served in the South County Precinct, the Central County Precinct, the Bureau of Transit Police, and the City of Fenton Precinct, and is currently assigned to the Highway Safety Unit. Lieutenant Ostendorf earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Lindenwood University. Lieutenant Ostendorf has received 8 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Dean joined the Department in 1996. Sergeant Dean previously served in the Bureau of Security  Services, the West County Precinct, and the North County Precinct, and is currently assigned to the Police  Canine Unit. Sergeant Dean has received 48 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Fort joined the Department in 2000 with prior military and law enforcement experience. Sergeant  Fort previously served in the North County Precinct, the Highway Safety Unit, the Bureau of Transit Police,  the City of Jennings Precinct, the Bureau of Security Services, and the Police Canine Unit, and is currently  assigned to the Sexual Offender Registration and Enforcement Unit. Sergeant Fort earned a Bachelor’s  Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College. Sergeant Fort has received 22 Department awards and  commendations. 

Sergeant Katic joined the Department in 2007 with prior law enforcement experience. Sergeant Katic previously served in the South County Precinct, the City of Wildwood Precinct, the Bureau of Transit  Police, and the Affton Southwest Precinct, and is currently assigned to the General Assignment Unit.  Sergeant Katic has received 2 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Krebs joined the Department in 2007 with prior law enforcement experience. Sergeant Krebs previously served in the North County Precinct and the City of Jennings Precinct and is currently assigned  to the Affton Southwest Precinct. Sergeant Krebs has received 8 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Love joined the Department in 2006 with prior law enforcement experience. Sergeant Love previously served in the North County Precinct, the Auto Crime Unit, and the Bureau of Transit Police, and is currently assigned to the St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit. Sergeant Love has received 6 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Neuman joined the Department in 1998. Sergeant Neuman previously served in the Bureau of  Communications, the Affton Southwest Precinct, and the West County Precinct, and is currently assigned  to the Highway Safety Unit. Sergeant Neuman has received 10 Department awards and commendations. 

Sergeant Wasem joined the Department in 2014. Sergeant Wasem is currently assigned to the South County Precinct. Sergeant Wasem earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Missouri-St.  Louis. Sergeant Wasem has received 3 Department awards and commendations.
