James M. McClelland, 73 of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home.
James was born on June 19, 1948, in Granite City; the son of the late Marvin and Vera (Wood) McClelland Belcher. James was a clerk at Terminal Railroad and proudly served his country in the United States Army, and in his free time he enjoyed his days of spending time with his family. James will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his friends and family.
James is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Shirley (Mefford) McClelland, whom he married on March 22, 1969; son, Darin McClelland and Samantha Huston of Granite City, IL; daughter, Shelly and Adam Klee of Texas; grandchildren, Emma, Isabel, Elinor “Nora”, Wolf, Finn; sisters, Lois Morgan, Brenda Chaney.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sisters, Janet and Denise.
In celebration of James’s life, a visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City.
