Bonnie Jean Presswood, 88, of Granite City, IL passed away on October 25, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born to the late Robert and Esther (Pierce) Burks on November 2, 1933, in Tuscumbia, MO. Bonnie worked at Bussman Fuse for 20 years and at Creekside Gardens for several years, she retired from there. She liked going to Big Cedar Lodge and Gatlinburg with her family, gardening, flowers, putting puzzles together, and watching the news, and politics. She also liked taking weekend drives to see nature with her husband Kenneth, who she married in Granite City, IL on May 14, 1984.
Besides her husband, Kenneth, Bonnie is survived by a son: Ricky (Belinda) Wickham; 3 daughters: Jody (Mike) Jackson, Christie (Dave) Macios, and Marsh Barrington; 10 grandchildren: Becky, Emily, Hannah, Karoline, Kelly, Kim. Matt, Michelle, Miranda, and Tayler; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister: Nina Atwell.
She proceeded in death by a granddaughter: Holly Macios; 4 sisters: Helen Birdsong, Agnes Vaccaro, Lorene Bond, and Opal Burks; and 2 brothers: Junior Burks and Joe Burks.
A celebration of life and burial at Jefferson Barrack National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
