Long Lake Fire Department Along With Several Other Departments Battle Apartment Fire

GRANITE CITY – Long Lake Fire Department responded to the 3900 block of Oakmont Dr Wednesday afternoon for an apartment building on fire.

When firefighters arrived on scene, smoke and fire was coming out of the second floor and the roof of the apartment building. Long Lake Fire Department requested the help of Mitchell, Madison and Granite City Fire Departments. Granite City provided its ladder truck to help get the fire under control.

The apartment building sustained significant damage. A hole could be seen in the roof along with a hole in the side of the building. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire or if there were any injuries.
