CM Lady Eagles Drop Tough Game To Rochester Rockets.

TAYLORVILLE – The Civic Memorial Lady Eagles basketball team dropped a tough game in the first round of the 28th annual Taylorville Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament to the Rochester Rockets 44 to 32.

It was the Lady Eagles first loss at the Taylorville Tournament since they came to the tournament four years ago. They came into the tournament with a 20 – 0 tournament record. The Lady Eagles were also with 3-point shooter Olivia Durbin due to illness and point guard Aubree Wallace with ACL injurie.

In the first quarter the Lady Eagles jumped out to a 16 to 13 lead over the Lady Rockets. In the second quarter Rochester was able to take a one-point lead into half time 24-23. In the third quarter Rochester was able to hold the lead with a 32-29. In the final quarter Rochester was able to outscore CM 12 to 3.

CM was led by Reegan Twente with 10 points and Avari Combes 6 points. Rochester was led by Kaylen Reed with 22 points and Emma Dixion and Ellie Gegen both with 9 points.

CM will play Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Mt. Zion.
