Gregory “Greg” Lee Craft, age 62 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 7, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Cecil and Patricia (nee Kreider) Craft.
Greg was a Collinsville High School graduate, Class of 1979. He attained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and Master’s from Ohio University. He worked for the Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 Middle School for over 30 years as an educator and girls’ basketball coach. His love and passion were coaching and his family. In 2019 he was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Surviving are his devoted wife, Jeannette (nee Cox) Craft; son, Justin Craft of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Kristin (Michael) Rayphole of Collinsville; one grandchild, Liam Craft; a brother, Dennis (Jean) Craft of Collinsville; a nephew, Jeff (Clarissa) Craft of Fenton, MO; and a niece, Laura (Tom) O’Hara of Collinsville, IL.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville as well as 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday with Rev. Zach Lysdahl officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or the American Diabetes Association and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
