East Alton Along With Other Area Fire Departments Battle Structure Fire Saturday Night
EAST ALTON – East Alton Fire Department along with several other area firefighters battle a Saturday night structure fire in the 100 block of Ohio Street.
Firefighters responded just after 8:30 p.m. and found heavy fire in the back of the home. The occupants were not home when the fire started. Firefighters from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, Rosewood Heights and Alton responded to the call.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly even after the wind picked up as they were battling the fire. East Alton Police Department closed down the 100 block of Ohio as firefighters handled the fire.
It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
