ALTON – Alton Police Department responded to the 2600 block of Maxey Street on Tuesday afternoon for a report of a shooting. This is the same block where a 15-year-old was shot and killed on May 2nd.
In todays shooting Alton Police Chief Jarrett Ford said” He can confirm one subject was shot and the Alton Middle School was placed on lockdown briefly while police ensured the scene was safe.”

The victim was transported to an area hospital by the Alton Fire Department and its unknown on the condition. Its unknown if anyone has been apprehended.
In the May 2 shooting a 15-year-old male was shot and killed. A juvenile male was charged in that shooting.
