EAST ALTON – East Alton Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 200 block of Illinois Street at around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The initial 911 call said a shed and house was possibly on fire because of that they requested a box-alarm. Alton, Wood River, Roxana and Rosewood Heights Fire Departments responded to the scene.

When East Alton Fire Department arrived on scene a shed was the only thing on fire. They quickly were able to get the fire under control and extinguished. Rosewood Heights Fire Department was disregarded at the scene, and they covered East Alton while they continued at the scene.
The shed and everything inside were a total loss. No injuries were reported.
It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
