GODFREY – On Thursday night, Firefighters were called out to the scene of a working structure fire in Godfrey.
Godfrey Fire Department were called at around 7:30 p.m. to the scene of a fire that broke out at Burns Wild Game Meat Processing and Smoke House in the 1200 block of Winter Lane.
Firefighters from the Godfrey, Fosterburg, Brighton, Alton and Wood River responded to the scene. When firefighters arrived on the scene the building had fire through the roof. Madison County Emergency Management responded with their rehab unit. Alton Memorial Ambulance did a fire standby just in case anyone was injured.
Brighton and Wood River used their ariel trucks to help battle the fire. It is unknown at this time what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
