Two Car Accident Send Multiple People To Hospitals Saturday Night
WOOD RIVER – Illinois State Police and Wood River Police are investigating an accident that occurred around midnight at Illinois Route 143 and Illinois Route 3 in Wood River.
Wood River Police contacted the Illinois State Police Acident Reconstruction Team to help investigate the accident.
Routes 3 and 143 were closed for multiple hours, law enforcement said. Two were airlifted to St. Louis with injuries, while the other two were also transported to hospitals for further treatment.
One of the drivers was attempting to make a turn into Wood River when they were struck.
Wood River Police closed the area until early Sunday and the accident remains under investigation.
