Dorothy “Dot” Alice Eversmann, age 98 of Collinsville, IL, peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Addington Place in Collinsville surrounded by her family.
Dot was born April 12, 1925 in Troy, IL to the late Wilbur and Alice (nee Kueker) Kurtz. She married Henry “Hank” L. Eversmann on July 11, 1945 and enjoyed 64 years together before his passing in 2010. She and Hank raised a family of four boys, Tom, Gary, Mark and Craig. She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed reading, knitting and playing cards. She treasured their family time at their home in the Lake of the Ozarks. A true matriarch for the Eversmann family. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hank Eversmann; a brother, Bud Kurtz; a sister, Grace Kern; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Eversmann.
Surviving are her four boys, Tom (Peggy) Eversmann, Gary (Donna) Eversmann, Mark (Jan) Eversmann and Craig (Leslie) Eversmann, all of Collinsville, IL; nine grandchildren: Nicholas (Corinne), Ben (Sarah), Thomas (Kate), Eric (Elizabeth), Matthew (Melissa), Lindsay, Jared, Chad (Gabriel Mc Mahon Fiance’) and Tyler (Marinda); nine great-grandchildren: Julia, Madelyn, Blake, Kirsten, Quinn, Noah, Adelaide, Bennett and Colby.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with Father John Beveridge celebrant. Burial will be in SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to SS Peter & Paul Church Annual Fund or SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
