ALTON – Just after 9:00 p.m. Sunday night Alton Fire Department responded to the 3700 block of Horn Ave for a fully involved structure fire.
When firefighters arrived on the scene the two-story house was fully involved. Firefighters went on a defensive attack due to the severity of the fire and were able to get the fire under control pretty quickly. The house appears to be a total loss.
A box alarm was struck and East Alton Fire Department responded to the scene. ” Nobody was home during the fire and no injuries were reported. We called the Illinois State Fire Marshall to investigate the fire.” Alton Fire Chief Jesse Jemison said.
Rosewood Heights Fire Department covered East Alton station while they helped Alton. Alton Police Department helped with traffic control while the fire was going on.
