EAST ALTON – East Alton Police Department along with the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis investigated a homicide early Thursday morning. The Major Case Squad responded to the East Alton Police Department in reference to the stabbing death of a female in the 300 block of West St. Louis Ave.
The victim was identified as 47-year-old Adell Davenport of East Alton. 18 Major Case Squad and the East Alton Police Department along with the Illinois State Crime Scene Unit investigated the homicide.
They were able to identify the suspect in the case.
John S. Davenport a 54-year-old male was charged with two counts of First Degree Murder. During the investigation, police learned that Adell and John were married several years prior but were separated.
