Motorcyclist Dead After Traffic Crash Monday Night

ALTON – A motorcycle accident left one person dead Monday evening at the intersection of Homer Adams Parkway and Morningstar Drive in Alton.

At around 7:00 p.m. a motorcycle collided with a vehicle after the collision the motorcycle burst into flames. Firefighters extinguished the flames and put a sheet over the body. A vehicle had damage to the front passenger door. The intersection was closed and traffic was diverted around the accident.

The Madison County Coroner’s Office was on the scene. An investigation was underway to find out the cause.
