Anna Mae Mathenia, 88, of Granite City, passed away in her home Thursday, September 28, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born the late Areles and Mary (Stephens) Haney on February 26, 1935 in Kuttawa, Ky. Anna retired from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital after 31 years where she worked as the unit secretary. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, IL.
Anna is survived by a daughter: Rhonda E. Mathenia of Granite City, IL; 2 sons: Richard (Helen) Mathenia of Granite City, IL, Robert (Shari) Mathenia of Granite City, IL; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers; James (Bonnie) Haney of Chaffee, MO, Edward Haney of Madison, IL; and a sister: Mary Kirkover of Kissimee, FL.
Besides her parents; Anna is preceded in death by a son: Randall Mathenia a sister; Lenora Haney and a brother in law: Richard Kirkover.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm, Friday, October 6, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, IL. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
