GRANITE CITY – Granite City High School hosted the Madison County Cross Country Meet for the girls and boys on Tuesday at Wilson Park in Granite City.
In both the girl’s and boy’s meet the schools were split into large and small schools. In the small school girls meet Father McGivney went one and two across the finish line with junior Elena Rybak with a time of 18:10 followed by teammate Kaitlyn Hatley with a time of 18:25.
Raelee Kimbro of Roxana finished third with a time of 20:51 followed by a fourth-place finish from CM Shelby Quick and a fifth-place finish by Jane Cummins of Father Mcgivney.
Marquettes top runner was Lillian Hannigan who placed seventh with a time of 22:47.
In the team standings, Father McGivney took first followed by Alton Marquette with a second-place finish. In third was Roxana followed by Civic Memorial.
In the large school meet Edwardsville’s Olivia Coll led the pack and took first place with a time of 19:19 followed by Kennedy Bowman of Triad with a time of 19:23. Emilee Franklin of Granite City took fourth (19:27) and rounding out the fifth place was Edwardsvilles Ava Horsfall(19:47) Alton’s top runner was Sophia Helfrich who placed eighth with a time of 21:02.
The large school team winner was Edwardsville followed by Triad. Highland took third.
