Barbara Ann (Rippy) Rigsby, 82, of Granite City, Illinois, born May 11, 1941 in Dover Tennessee, passed away, November 29, 2023, peacefully at home, surrounded by family.
Barbara was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Granite City. She retired after 35 years as Unit Manager at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, also in Granite City. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Hazel (Cottrell) Rippy; her siblings, Carol Rippy, JoAlice Rippy and Sonny Rippy; and a brother-in-law, Bob Matsko
Surviving to cherish her memory are the father of her children, Larry Joe Rigsby, of Edwardsville, Illinois, her daughters, Laura (Rev. Brian) Smith, of Granite City, Illinois and Beth (Tony) Teague, of Herculaneum, Missouri; her grandchildren, Nathaniel (Amber) Smith, Emily (Daniel Parker) Smith, Nicole (Mike) Reynolds, and Tyler (Shelby Gassett) Barnes; her great grandchildren, Eva and Elias Smith, Reese and Jack Reynolds, and Gunnar, Tatum, and Baker Barnes; her sisters, Faye Matsko and Cathy (Louie) Mifflin; and her dearest friend, Betty Tester.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at Second Baptist Church, 2100 Illinois Ave, Granite City, IL 62040. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Taylors Chapel Cemetery in Dover, Tennessee.
