ALTON – The Alton Lady Redbirds basketball team opened conference play with a 57-35 win over rival Edwardsville Tigers.
Alton jumped out to a 19 to 5 lead after the first quarter. Alton extended their lead going into the locker room 33-14.

In the third quarter, Alton pushed their lead to 43-21. And in the final quarter, Alton outscored Edwardsville 14-13
Alyssa Lewis led Alton with 13 points, Jarius Powers with 12 points, Talia Norman with 11 points, and Kaylea Lacey with 10 points. Lainey McFarlin led Edwardsville with 10 points
Alton is now 5-0
