Norma J. Kinder, née Kester, 84, of Granite City, Illinois, born January 31, 1939, in Granite City, Illinois, passed away on December 4, 2023, in Maryville, Illinois.
Norma was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Granite City, Illinois. She also served Trinity as the church treasurer and was on the church council. She worked for 16 years as the secretary for the Chief Judge at the Madison County Courthouse, retiring in 2002. She volunteered her time to the TWIGS Program in Granite City. She also enjoyed creating arts and crafts, including needlepoint and baking. Norma will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter G. and Pearl J. (Tooley) Kester; her husband, Hon. Norman H. Kinder, Jr, whom she married June 8, 1963, at Trinity UMC; her son, Norman H. Kinder, III; her sisters, Carolyn S. “Cookie” Kester and Sara (Frank) Dutko; a nephew, Frank S. Dutko; and her niece, Robin (Tom) Newman.
Surviving are her nieces, Kelly (Rob) Pinnell, of Phoenix, Arizona, Cindy (Steve) Altman, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Becky Dutko, of Mesa, Arizona, Cindy (Dave) Sciotto, of Phoenix, Arizona; Jill (John) Kinder Frey, of Mansfield, Ohio; a nephew, Thomas (Tara) Kinder, of Alton, Illinois; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral: Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Lisa Guilliams officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Illinois.
