BETHALTO – The Civic Memorial Lady Eagles girls basketball team was lights out behind the three-point line tonight in the home opener. They combined for nine three-pointers to beat East St Louis 74 – 24 and stay undefeated.
CM came out hot in the first quarter and jumped out to a 20 to 9 lead. In the second quarter, they continued shooting hot and extended the lead to 43 to 16 going into the locker room.
In the third quarter, they pushed their lead to 59 to 24. In the final quarter CM’s defense didn’t allow East St Louis to score and outscored them 15 to 0.
The Lady Eagles had four players score ten or more points. Marlee Durbin and Reegan Twente led the Eagles with 12 points and Marley Ogden and Avery Huddleston with 11 points.
Civic Memorial is now 8-0.
