Final Day Score Roundup Of The Prairie Farms Holliday Classic In Collinsville

COLLINSVILLE – Roundup from the last day of the 39th Annual Prairie Farms Holliday Classic.

Belleville Althoff 51 – Belleville East 25

Belleville Althoff jumped out to a 16 to 6 lead after the first quarter on the tournament’s final day. They extended their lead to 28 to 8 going into the locker room.

In the third quarter it was all Althoff they pushed their lead to 45 to 14 going into the final quarter. Belleville East outscored Althoff 11 to 6 in the final quarter.

Zach Winkler led Althoff with 13 points and Patton Leib and Dierre Hill Jr both with 10 points.

Christian Jenkins led Belleville East with 8 points.

Decatur MacArthur 46 – Triad 45

In the fifth-place game, MacArthur beat Triad on a last-second basket. MacArthur took the lead with a 19 to 15 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, MacArthur held onto the lead 28 to 23 to go into the locker room.

In the third quarter, Triad was down 35 to 34 going into the final quarter. In the final quarter, it was a back-and-forth game.

With six seconds left, Triads Drew Winslow scored a three-pointer to make it 45 to 44. MacArthur inbounded the ball and raced down the court and right before the buzzer MacArthur Sean Lee put up a jumper to score the winning shot.

MacArthur was led by Sean Lee and Stevie Tatum both with 10 points.

Triad was led by Drew Winslow with 21 points and Brody Hasquin with 10 points.

Granite City 63 – Carbondale 59

In the Consolation Championship game, Granite City beat Carbondale in overtime. Granite City took the lead with a 16 to 8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, Granite City held onto the lead 31 to 26 to go into the locker room.

In the third quarter, both teams were tied 38 to 38 going into the final quarter. After a back-and-forth final quarter, both teams were all tied up 54 to 54 going into overtime. In overtime, it was all Granite City they outscored Carbondale 9 to 5.

Granite City was led by Milton Dowell with 18 points, Evan Brewer with 16 points, and Andrew Walker with 12 points.

Carbondale was led by Tenelle Greene with 22 points and DeCarl Payne with 19 points.

O’Fallon 54 – Lincoln 31

In the third-place game, it was all O’Fallon they led throughout the game over Lincoln. In the first quarter, O’Fallon jumped out to a 14 to 4 lead. In the second quarter, they extended their lead to 18 to 12 going into the locker room.

In the third quarter, O’Fallon really extended their lead 40 to 22 going into the final quarter. In the final quarter, O’Fallon outscored Lincoln 14 to 9.

O’Fallon was led by Jaeden Rush with 13 points, Rini Harris with 12 points, and Will Brown Jr with 10 points.

Lincoln was led by Drew Hayes with 9 points.

Collinsville 44 – Quincy 39

In the championship game Collinsville and Quincy both came into the game undefeated Collinsville with a 15 – 0 record and ranked 10th in 4A and Quincy with a 14-0 record and ranked 3rd in 4A according to AP polls.

In a packed Virgil Flecher Gym Quincy jumped out to an 11-8 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the game was all tied up 18 to 18 going into the locker room.

In the third quarter, Quincy held on to a 30 -29 going into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, Collinsville outscored Quincy 15 to 9 to win.

During the game, they had 12 lead changes and 4 tied scores.

Collinsville was led by Zach Chambers with 14 points, and Jamorie Wysinger with 12 points.

Quincy was led by Ralph Wires with 10 points.
