EAST ALTON – The East Alton Police Department and Fire Department responded to a pedestrian struck in the 600 block of Powder Mill Road at approximately 7:15 tonight.
When first responders arrived they located a person that had been struck by a vehicle. Firefighters worked on the victim but they were pronounced deceased.

It’s unknown at this time the description of the vehicle.
East Alton Police Department said the vehicle fled the scene and is asking that anyone with information relative to this case to please call (618) 259-6212 or (618) 251-3113
