13-Year-Old Girl Shot Saturday Afternoon In Alton

ALTON – A teenage girl was shot Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of Highland Ave.

First responders were dispatched just before 3:00 p.m Firefighters found a 13-year-old girl who had been shot and was laying on a porch. Alton Fire Department transported the girl to Alton Memorial Hospital where a medical helicopter was waiting to transport the girl to a St Louis hospital.

Several area police departments sent officers to the hospital and the scene to help with crowd control.

At this time they have not released the condition of the girl. Alton Police Department detectives are actively investigating the shooting.
