Barbara Kaleta 87, of Granite City, Illinois, born March 23, 1936, in Granite City, Illinois, passed away on February 24, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Barbara loved flowers every Mother’s Day she and Susan would go to Creekside Nursery to get her favorite flowers. She loved to dance and spend time at the senior citizen hall with her friends. She loved animals and often volunteered to help rescue them. Her home was a sanctuary. She was independent, fierce and ever so loving, you always left her house with something she would give you. She always had a sense of humor and had the best jokes. She was quite the firecracker.
Barbara was proceeded in death by her mother Bernice Easley, son Barry Kaleta, as well as her brother Ben Apponey.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Kaleta- Meyer (Dave Meyer) of Granite City IL. Grandchildren: Alicia Kaleta, Kelsey Kaleta, Ashton Mouser, and Great Grandchild, Nora Mathis. Daughter in- law Shelly (David) Mouser. Cousins Judy Browning- Pool, Holly Diedrich, Darla Maples, Vicki (Greg) Nighohossian and many more.
Visitation: Friends and family may visit from 1 pm to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home, Granite City, Illinois. Memorial service at 3 p.m.
