Gary Charles Lofink, 62, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 2:06 a.m. Wed. Apr. 3, 2024 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born Feb. 14, 1962, in Redbud, IL to the late Charles & Romana (Maes) Lofink.
On Feb. 15, 1985, he and Connie Marie Campbell were married in Granite City. She survives.
Gary was a sheet metal worker, serving with Local #36. He was a member of the Granite City Moose. He loved to swim, watch The Price is Right and go fishing and was known for telling jokes and stories but his favorite love was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children: Charles Lee (Zona) Lofink of Japan, Gregory Thomas Lofink, Cassandra (Stan) Wania and Carlie Lofink all of Granite City; 4 grandchildren: Rowan, Hazel, Brock and Cadence; and 4 brothers: Benjamin (Leslie) Lofink of Granite City, Timothy (Cathy) Lofink of Union, MO, David (Denise) Lofink and James (Kathryn) Lofink of Granite City.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Dorothy Agoain and Kathryn Cuvar.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date.
