Carol Kindle

Carol S. Kindle, 83, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was born July 25, 1940, in Highland, Illinois, a daughter of the late Howard W. and Bonnie (Kleinman) Whitten.  She married Euguene L. “Monty” Kindle on December 21, 1956, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City and he survives. 

She enjoyed her years working at Anderson Hospital in Maryville as a CAN and EMT and working towards being an LPN.  Carol was always there to care for others throughout her life.  She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Unity Baptist Church in Granite City.  She enjoyed making jewerly and more recently enjoyed painting pictures.  Known as Nana to her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, she will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. 

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by three children and their spouses, Cheryl and Robert Duncan of Troy, Illinois, Dawn and David Boone of Granite City and Richard and Daphne Kindle of Daphne, Alabama; ten grandchildren, Bonnie, Jodi, Amanda, Cori, Richard, Lyndy, Tim, Erik, Alyssa and Sophia; seventeen great grandchildren; three siblings and spouses, Rosemary and Bill Puhse of Granite City, Linda and Manfred Driesner of Highland, Illinois and Lane Whitten of Nashville, Illinois; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sioux and Rick Young of Bismarck, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robin and Anne Kindle of Bismarck, Missouri; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. 

In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jarad Corzine officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.  www.irwinchapel.com
