Jeanette E. “Jan” Bone, 74, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:22 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born February 10, 1950, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Fritz and Agnes (Sucich) Barunica. She married Danny M. Bone on February 10, 1965, in Granite City and he passed away on August 19, 2020. Jan had worked several years as a realtor with Prudential Realty. She had also worked as a switchboard operator at Gateway Regional Medical Center and as a clerk at Nemo’s Pet Store in Pontoon Beach. She was a member of the Glenview Assembly of God Church in Granite City and at the Calvary Family Church in Collinsville. She enjoyed her days of supporting the Angel Tree Ministries, gardening and knitting. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Danielle Bone, Danne (Brittney Wheeler) Bone III, Rachael Clements, Martin Clements and Maddeline Brummitt; a great grandson, Hudson Bone; four siblings, Shirley Barunica-Lassen, Scott Barunica, Linda Odom and Tina Stefanoff; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Oriel Bone and Kyle Bone; a grandson, Roger Clements; a brother, Frank Barunica and a sister, Diane Margherio.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 12:00 noon until time of a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
