SOUTH ROXANA – The South Roxana Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Ohio Ave Wednesday afternoon.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they had heavy fire and smoke showing from the structure. A box alarm was requested. Roxana, Wood River, Mitchell, Edwardsville, and East Alton all responded. Bethalto responded to South Roxana station. Madison County Ememegcy Managment responded with their rehab unit.

It took firefighters about a half-hour to get the fire under control.
It is unknown at this time how the fire started. It is unknown if there were any injuries at this time.
