Billy C. Curtis, 84, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:28 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Alton Memorial Rehabilitation in Alton, Illinois. He was born February 15, 1940, in Campbell, Missouri, the son of the late Hardin and Nora Ethel (Adkins) Curtis. He married Iris Marie (Hendrix) Curtis on January 31, 1959, in Pagedale, Missouri and she survives. Billy retired in 1991 from the Granite City Police Department after 22 ½ years of dedicated service as an officer. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Granite City and a former member of the First Church of God in Alton. He enjoyed his years of bowling and camping. He will be remembered for his years of service to his community and for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a son, Rick Curtis (Brian Sparkman) of Florissant, Missouri and a daughter, Terri (Bill) Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Tad (Kaylyn) Davis and Ashley (Chris) Miller; three great grandchildren, Curtis Miller, Faith Miller and Owen Davis; a sister, Georgia (Jerry) Buchanan of Granite City; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Curtis and two sisters, Peggy Harvester and Delores Bolton.
