Franklin Hollis

Franklin A. Hollis, C.P.A., 78, of Granite City, passed away, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, 7:40 a.m. at Christian Hospital, in St. Louis, Missouri with family by his side.

He was born June 16, 1945, in Bernie, Missouri and was the son of the late Frank T. and Jocie G. (nee: Goforth) Hollis.

Frank married Debra Jo “Debbie” Fine on August 7, 1971, in Granite City.  She survives.

A Certified Public Accountant for more than 40 years, Frank served many clients.  He was especially proud to work with Southwestern Illinois Law Enforcement Commission for more than four decades. In addition to his accounting work, Frank owned The Flower Emporium in Granite City for 38 years.

He was a member of the Illinois CPA Society, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Independent Accountants Association of Illinois.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, Frank is also survived by his daughter, Angela L. Hollis of Granite City, IL; his son Franklin B. “Ben” Hollis (Amy) of Alton, IL; Two granddaughters; Catherine Rose Hollis and Grace Violet Hollis, four brothers-in-law: Jay Mooney of Texas; Bradley Fine (Karen) of St. Peters, MO;  Brian Fine (Debra Jones) of Granite City, IL; Michael Fine (Marilou) of Alton, IL;  nieces, nephews and other family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter; Dawn Renee Hollis, a brother; Jackie Dean Hollis, a sister; Deloma Jean Mooney, and by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, William and Evelyn Fine.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, #50 Fountain Drive in Glen Carbon, Illinois from 10:00 a.m. until time of Services honoring his life at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates.

For those desiring, Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to American Macular Degeneration Foundation.
