GREENVILLE – The Roxana Shells baseball team was eliminated in the sectional semifinal game Wednesday in Greenville after they were shut out 5-0 by Effingham St Anthony.
Effingham St Anthony struck first in the bottom of the first when Brock Fearday hit a single to centerfield scoring Beau Adams, also in the bottom of the first Brady Hatton singled to left field which scored Fearday making it 2-0.
In the bottom of the third Beau Adams scored on a wild pitch making it 3-0. In the bottom of the fourth St. Anthany extended their lead when Will Fearday scored making it 4-0.
In the bottom of the 5th Brady Hatton singles on a line drive to left field scoring Schmidt making it 5-0.
Roxana’s pitcher Aiden Briggs went 6 innings he gave up six hits on five runs.
