Evangelina German Lopez, 82, of Granite City, IL passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at La Bella of Edwardsville surrounded by her family.
She was born in Hidalgo, Mexico to the late Abelardo German and Maria Luisa Benita Lopez Olmedol on May 11, 1942. When she was 66 years old, Evangelina moved from Mexico to the United States to be close to her family. Evangelina was a very religious woman, who stood strong in her Catholic Faith. She was a hard working person who was always helping other people. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, the best at Chinese Checkers and a very creative person. One of her favorite things to do was spoil her granddaughter, Isabella.
Evangelina is survived by a son: Ruben Carranza; daughter in law: Cathy Neidhardt; granddaughter: Isabella Carranza; and a brother Ruben German Lopez.
Besides her parents; she is preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth German Lopez.
