James Rule

James “Jim” Edward Rule, 72, of Caseyville, IL, born April 14, 1952, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence.

Jim was the fourth of fourteen children. It was quite challenging for him, but most of his younger siblings say that he was a great role model and caring brother. Some even say he was Mom’s favorite child.

Jim attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale and graduated with a BS of Industrial Engineering degree. He worked at Arch Conveying in St. Louis until he went on disability in 1995. He greatly enjoyed being with family and working outdoors. After many years of several physical hardships, his doctors decided it was time for him to be under hospice care on June 19, 2024, and then God decided that it was time to welcome him home and into his loving arms soon after. He was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Joanne, nee Sax, Rule; and a sister, Barb Karban.
