Judith “Judy” Marie Jordan, age 84, of Montgomery City, MO, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO. Judy was born on November 8, 1939, in Granite City, IL, a daughter of the late Arthur and Velma (Verling) Means.
Judy will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a dear friend. She never met a stranger and Judy was always willing to lend a helping hand. Judy retired from Midwest Card in St. Louis, MO, as a typesetter after many years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Her greatest joy was babysitting and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Larry Jordan; lifelong companion, Alvie Harlan; and by two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by loving children, Mike (Darlene) Jordan of Tennessee, Mark (Cassy Rose) Martinez of Granite City, IL, Mando Martinez of Granite City, IL, Jerad Jordan of Kansas City, MO, Debbie (Joey) Harlan of Farmington, MO, Lou Thelen of Montgomery City, MO, Duane (Janet) Harlan of New Haven, MO, Mike Harlan of Montgomery City, MO and Lynn (Danny) Roark of Jonesburg, MO; dear brother, Danny Means of Granite City, IL; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, beloved dog, Milo; extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, a visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Freedom Worship Center, 3633 State Rt. 162, Pontoon Beach, IL. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Gary Cook officiating. Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road, Granite City, IL, at a future date.
