Rosemarie Moran, nee Yobby, 77, of Maryville, IL passed away on Monday August 5, 2024. Rosemarie was born on July 11, 1947, in Granite City, IL to Joseph and Mary (Timko) Yobby and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry (the late Cynthia) Yobby.
Rosemarie grew up in the Granite City, IL area. She then started her family and raised her sons in a loving home. She was hardworking and spent many years with Lapham-Hickey Steel as a billing clerk. She later served in housekeeping at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL.
In her earlier years, Rosemarie loved bowling. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a lifelong, faithful Catholic. Her grandchildren were central to her life. She enjoyed cooking with them, playing cards and watching movies. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Brian (Kim Jung) Moran and Michael (Amanda) Moran; her siblings: Mary Ann (the late George) Petrunich and John (Eileen) Yobby; her grandchildren: Megan Moran, Kendra Moran, Madison Moran, Emma Moran, Ryleigh Moran and Harper Moran and her great-grandchildren: Destiny Swalley and Jackson Jung in addition to extended family and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
