William Kirtlink

William “Bill” E. Kirtlink, 89, of Swansea, IL, born Tuesday, January 29, 1935, in Hannibal, MO, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Mar-Ka Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mascoutah, IL.

Bill was the owner and operator of Anchor Sewer & Excavating until he passed the business on to his son, Mike. Bill loved to travel, having been to China, Germany and Costa Rica. Many of his friends called him the old story teller as he loved to tell stories of his worldly travels. He was a member of Winstanley Baptist Church in Fairview Heights IL, Granite City Scuba Diving Club, Lifetime Member of the American Motorcycle Association and Operating Engineers Local #520.

He was preceded in death by his:

  • Wife: Arletta “Rockie”, nee Dennison, Kirtlink
  • Sons:
    • Michael E. Kirtlink
    • Christopher W. Kirtlink
  • Parents: W. D. Warren and Enid I., nee King. Kirtlink
  • Sister: Joan Rickey

Surviving are his:

  • Daughters:
    • Vicki Kirtlink of St. Louis, MO
    • Cindy Kirtlink of Swansea, IL
  • Granddaughter: Macy Kirtlink
  • Fur babies: Waffles and Sunshine
  • Dear niece, nephews, cousins, and friends

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Winstanley Baptist Church or Belleville Area Humane Society.

Services: Private interment at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
