Marta Hinton

Marta Louise Hinton, 62, of O’Fallon, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 22, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with liver cancer.

Marta was born on March 10, 1962, in Terre Haute, Indiana, where she grew from a bright child who adored horses to a confident and independent young woman. She graduated from Terre Haute North Vigo High School in 1980, where she developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for reading. She began a successful real estate career in 1997, serving as an agent at Strano and Associates Real Estate since 2010.

Known for her warm and caring personality, Marta will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Marta’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Those who knew her will remember Marta for her kindness, sense of humor, generosity, and love of St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

She is survived by her husband Robert Hinton, daughters Shay Hinton and Brianna (Tony) Hinton, parents Donald (Barb) Jenks and Shirley Ray, younger sister Lisa Furrer, niece Darci Parker, and nephew Dylan McDaniel. She was also a dedicated dog mom to her beloved miniature schnauzers, Nico and Declan.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital and Unity Hospice for their compassionate care during Marta’s illness.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O’Fallon, Illinois, with a memorial service to begin at 2:30 p.m. Flowers are welcome but not necessary. Sign the online guestbook and view a photo tribute at www.wfh-ofallon.com. Those wishing to honor Marta are encouraged to make a donation in her name to the charity of their choice.
