Rosa L. Williams, 99, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 3:18 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She was born September 13, 1924, in McClure, Illinois, a daughter of the late Earl and Effie (Bolen) Colyer. Rosa married Curtis Williams on October 17, 1941, in Thebes, Illinois and he passed away on September 11, 2002. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City and enjoyed her days of traveling and fishing. She cherished the special times shared with her family and loved her dogs, Pepper and Pierre. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Howard Bruce and Theresa Williams of Kimberling City, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Judy Williams of Highland; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Bonnie and Jeff Reiter, Rhonda and Craig Miles, Angie and Randy Roberts, Nicole and Jeremy Jones, Crystal Williams and Derek Bosserman, Jennifer and Ronnie McCoy and Jeff and Amanda Hillman; eleven great grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; a sister, Beverly Fanning of Granite City; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Argil Williams; a daughter, Linda Hillman-Barts; a grandson, Howard Scott Hillman; a granddaughter, Robin Williams and four sisters, Lorean Daughtry, Marie Potts, Richard Colyer, Ula “Billie” Harper and Patsy Garland.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, with Daniel Wilson officiating.
