Dennis Alan Greene, 64, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born December 29, 1959, in Granite City, Illinois, a son of the late Henry C. and Dorothy (Woodsworth) Greene. Dennis was an arborist with Ray’s Tree Service and was a member of the International Society of Arboriculture. Dennis had a love for rock music and was a talented drummer and musician throughout his life. He also enjoyed hot rod cars, drag racing and his days of hunting. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason and Cynthia Greene of Granite City and Jarrett Greene of Granite City; four grandchildren, Makenna, Penny, Tucker and Gunner; his former wife and friend, Tina Greene of Granite City; two sisters, Linda Denny of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Kathy Crocker of Granite City; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bryleigh Greene and two sisters, Joyce Clemons and Sandy Greene. In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
