Carol Ann Baltosiewich, SFCC, 80, of Belleville, IL, was born November 29, 1943, in Wyandotte, MI, and died on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Dammert Care Center, Belleville, IL.
Carol was of Polish ancestry and very proud of it. She entered the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis in Springfield Illinois in 1963 and professed vows in 1966. Carol received her nursing degree in 1971, from Marillac College in St. Louis, Missouri. She served in various HSHS hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin and cofounded Bethany Place, an AIDS Service Organization. Carol later left the Hospital Sisters and joined the Sisters for Christian Community in 1994 and spent the next 20 years ministering in substance abuse with Gateway Foundation in Caseyville, Illinois.
Carol loved music and played the flute and Lowrey organ along with reading mystery/forensic novels and crocheting and knitting. She loved all forms of four-footed furry creatures, especially her own, Zoey, Mandi, Cinders, Annie, and Little Bitts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Robert Baltosiewich.
Surviving are her brother, Carl (Patricia) Baltosiewich of Wyandotte, Michigan; and her nephew, Brian (Terra) Baltosiewich of Charlotte, North Carolina.
