Brenda Rae Howie (Jolly), and as known to many as “Maga,” passed away in her Granite City, IL home on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the age of 76.
She was born to the late Raymond and Emma “Kathy” (Agers) Jolly on July 3, 1948 in St. Louis, MO.
Brenda was a beloved member of the Word of Life Tabernacle Church in Granite City and very active in her community. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was the first to volunteer her delicious cooking at family and church functions. Brenda was described as a mother to all as she never met a stranger and often put her own needs aside to help another. She spent many weekends playing Bingo at the KC Hall; the purple dauber was her favorite. And she carried a guardian angel keychain for good luck.
Brenda is survived by a son: Terry (& Candice) Howie; seven grandchildren: Dakoda (& Heather) Middleton, Gavin Jolly (& Ilaina Novacich), Zachary Jolly, Emalee Jolly, Mikayla Jolly, Josh Jolly, and Emma Jolly; four great grandchildren: Mia Middleton, Cameron Middleton, Benson Jolly, Asher Jolly; a brother: James (& Diane) Jolly; two sisters: Joyce Jolly and Jewel Jolly; a sister-in-law: Jane Jolly; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Along with her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by three children: a son: Donald Jolly and two twin daughters; three brothers: Chuck (& Vickie) Jolly, Gerald “Butch” Jolly, and Raymond Jolly; and a sister: Linda (& Ed) Williams.
Special thanks from the family to Wanda Middleton, Jill Randall, Jessica Lockhart.
