Bruce Kramlich

Bruce A. Kramlich, 81, of Swansea, IL, born August 19, 1943, in East St. Louis, IL, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, MO.

Bruce retired in 2001 after being employed for almost 40 years as a Precision Sub-Assembler at McDonnell Douglas / Boeing Aircraft company and was a member of the International Association of Machinists Union District 837. In his earlier years, he served as a scout leader for Cub Scout pack #8 at High Mount School and was a member of the Swansea Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Kramlich was a former member of Christ Church U.C.C. and was instrumental in the creation of their annual Wurstmarkt. Bruce enjoyed life and spent his years involved in all types of activities. He loved the outdoors and made many great memories spending time at Kentucky lake with friends. He was a master at fabricating and enjoyed working alongside his son, Jeff, on automotive and marine projects and building Drag Boat Racing equipment.

He also enjoyed Sprint car and Midget racing and Drag Boat racing with his many friends and was a member of the St. Louis and Kentucky Drag Boat Associations. Some of his other interests included hand-tying fishing jigs, hunting, and his love for Crappie fishing.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mattie, nee Rea, Kramlich; a brother, Allen Wayne Kramlich; and a sister, Joyce (Sullivan) Cook.

He is survived by his son, Jeff Kramlich of Swansea, IL;

“Don’t be sad when I’m gone. I’ve had a good life. It’s been fun.”

Visitation: Friends may visit from 11 to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 5420 Old Collinsville Road, Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Casual attire welcome.

Funeral: Memorial services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Fairview Heights, IL, with Racers for Christ Chaplain Vince Ottway officiating.

A luncheon and celebration of life will follow memorial service.
