Robert H. Schlechte, 83, of Belleville, IL, born April 4, 1941, in Belleville, IL, died Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, IL.
Mr. Schlechte worked at Keystone Container Corporation for 26 years. In his earlier years, he had worked at St. Louis Seed Company, St. Louis, MO, and Huntleigh Music Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma, nee Vierheller, Schlechte; half-brother, John Edwin Hickman; and his grandparents, Henry and Lena Schlechte.
Surviving are a half-niece, Cheryl Logan, and her children, Cal and Kristen Hoepfinger; two half-nephews, Greg Hickman and Randy Hickman; cousins, Eric (Katherine) Schlechte, Molly (Craig) Bergkoetter, Linda (Tom) Hagen, and Cora Schmidt; and a special friend, Kirk Nordhaus.
