Dorothy Mae MacKnight (nee Dallas), 98, of O’Fallon, IL, born on May 18, 1926, in O’Fallon, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Four Fountains in Belleville, IL.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of O’Fallon and graduated from O’Fallon High School in 1944. She was musically talented and played and taught piano. Dorothy also loved embroidery and canning.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Francis Dallas (nee Johnson); her beloved husband, Donald MacKnight; and four siblings, James Dallas, Edna Pickern, Jean Ohl, and Edith Dallas.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her two children, Peggy (Gary) Moeller, Ronald “Ron” (Marisa McGavran) MacKnight; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10 a.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O’Fallon, IL 62269. Burial will immediately follow at O’Fallon City Cemetery.
