Leola Ann Etling, nee Wilderman, 92, of Belleville, IL, born April 6, 1932, in Belleville, IL, died Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, IL.
Leola was a member of the American Business Women’s Charter Chapter, The Daughters of the American Revolution, the St. Clair County Farm Bureau, and a lifelong member of St. Peter Cathedral Catholic Church. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball fan. Leola enjoyed country western music, she was a great cook, artist, and loved attending holiday family get-togethers.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 15 years, Melvin F. Etling, whom she married on August 1, 1971, and who died on June 24, 1986; her son, Raymond “Chuck” Obermeier; her parents, Joseph Henry and Clara Bernadine, nee Cange, Wilderman; a brother in infancy, Clay Wilderman; her brother-in-law, Leroy Weck; a step-grandson, Troy Siade; and a special friend, Ed Weinman.
Surviving are her children, Vernon (Mary) Obermeier and Leonelda “Sue” (Ralph) Siade; two grandchildren, Chris Obermeier and Lacey (Shannon) Horn; three great-grandchildren, Jared Obermeier, Spencer Obermeier, and Hendrix Horn; two step great-grandchildren, Jayden Horn and Drew Horn; a sister, Bernette Weck; her first husband, Raymond Obermeier; and many dear nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Msgr. James Buerster officiating.
Burial will be at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL.
