Peggy R. Elliott, age 73 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at home in Highland, IL.
She was born on Thursday, July 5, 1951, in Breese, IL, the daughter of Cyril and Thelma (nee Fuhler) Athmer.
On Saturday, December 9, 1978, she married Randall Gene Elliott at Methodist Church, Breese, IL, who passed away on Sunday, September 9, 1984.
She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mary Esther, FL and St. Frances Catholic Church, Aviston, IL.
Peggy was born in Breese, IL and grow up in Aviston, IL. She graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1969. She worked for the Civil Service at Scott Air Force Base until 1987; then worked for Hulburtfield, AFB in Florida and retired in 1991. She lived in Mary Esther, FL. She also worked as Rental Manager at Sunset Harbor and Investment Marketing, Inc. for 4 years. She enjoyed reading, water sports, jet skiing, and shopping. She moved to Highland, IL in 2011.

(Mike) Renspurger, Highland, IL; Brother – Daniel C. (Deborah Kay) Athmer, Aviston, IL; Sister – Joan E. (Pete) Wilken, Aviston, IL; Sister – Susie L. Dulle, Highland, IL; Sister-In-Law – Missy Athmer, Highland, IL; Aunt – Marilyn Hagen, Breese, IL; Uncle – Don (Jane) Fuhler, New Baden, IL; Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
She was preceded in death by: Father – Cyril J. Athmer – Died April 18, 2014; Mother – Thelma J. “Timmy” Athmer, nee Fuhler – Died Oct. 20, 1990; Husband – Randall G. “Randy” Elliott – Died Sept. 9, 1984; Son – Ian K. Elliott – Died Aug. 13, 2013; Step Daughter – Lori Gene Baker – Died May 26, 1990; Brother – Craig A. Athmer – Died Jan. 11, 2023; Dog – Indy – Died 2023.
Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.
Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL, with Father Mariadas Chatla, Parochial Vicar, St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating.
