Michelle Booker

Michelle M. Booker, 57, of Belleville, IL., born December 13, 1966, in Belleville, IL., died Thursday, November 7, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michelle, a cherished horse-riding instructor, devoted family member, and friend. Michelle touched the lives of countless children as an instructor, sharing her passion for horses with joy, patience, and care. Her love for teaching was only matched by the excitement and confidence she inspired in her students. To the children she taught, she was more than a teacher – she was a role model and friend.

Michelle was a woman of many talents and interests. She was an avid cook who delighted in creating meals for family and friends, finding comfort and happiness in bringing people together through food. As a photographer, she had a keen eye for beauty and captured precious memories, often sharing her love for nature and life’s little moments through her lens. Michelle also adored Christmas; her joy and enthusiasm for the holiday season were infectious, filling her home with warmth, laughter, and festive spirit every year.

Above all, Michelle was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and sister. Her family meant everything to her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and grace that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Michelle’s warmth, laughter, and bright spirit will be missed profoundly by her family, friends, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a comfort and blessing to all who grieve her passing.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Booker.

She is survived by her husband, David Owen; four children, Ashley Emig, Patrick (Rebecka) MacMiller, Stephanie (Brian) McGuire, and Rachel (Ronnie) Kister; four grandchildren, Parker, Theodore, Maggie, and Owen; her mother, Martha, nee Hoffmann, Booker; a brother, Michael (Jamey) Booker; and nieces and nephews.
